Our 2021 Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay, always a blend from both of our estate vineyards: the historic Sanford & Benedict Vineyard (10%) and La Rinconada (90%). These singular vineyards are in the heart of the cool and coastal Sta. Rita Hills appellation. A wide range of Chardonnay selections are planted on these sites, and this wine is a blend of 6 of these from several different soil types. Gorgeous aromas of chamomile, blown-out candles, and grilled lemon aromas inform the palate which is elegant, and wonderfully suave. The 2021 will pair better with lighter, simpler fare and is open, charming and delicious.

The appellation 2021 Chardonnay Sta. Rita Hills reveals a medium gold hue as well as a layered, medium-bodied profile carrying quality citrus, tangerine, and honeyed flower aromas and flavors. It's medium-bodied, round, nicely balanced, and supple, with a charming style that's a joy to drink.

The 2021 Chardonnay (Sta. Rita Hills) is a very pretty appellation-level wine. Citrus peel, white flowers, almond, dried flowers and mint are nicely delineated. There is a bit of firmness in the contours that need time to soften. Most of this fruit is from La Rinconada, which explains the wine's overall feel.
